Los Angeles Wedding Photography – Chris & Lauren’s Engagement Session {The Last Bookstore}

When Lauren and I met I asked her what she and Chris like to do for fun, her first response was “read”. She also told me that she is a big Harry Potter fan and Chris is a big Lord of the Rings fan. I knew that I had to photograph their engagement session in a library or bookstore and incorporate elements of their favorite books, with out being over the top. This began my search for the coolest looking library or bookstore in Los Angeles. Thanks to another photographer’s recommendation, I found it.

The Last Bookstore in LA is an amazing place in the historic district of downtown Los Angeles. The building was once a bank and the old banks vaults are still there. They have rooms upon rooms of books and upstairs is both bookstore and art exhibit.

We actually started their session wandering the surrounding streets downtown, photographing at the farmers market just outside the bookstore, as well as in the beautiful, historic Biltmore Hotel. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Castle Green in Pasadena (another historic location)!
